American Idol winner, Samantha Diaz, popular by the stage name Just Sam, has revealed she went broke after paying off her record label. The popular artist won season 18 of the popular singing competition in 2020 –– when the show was forced to go virtual amid the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sam has been consistently uploading material to her social media channels, and there’s been rumors that she’s been “dropped” by Hollywood Records, but there’s no official release or statement to confirm those reports.

Now it seems certain that Sam and Hollywood Records have parted ways without releasing any music at all, as she drops her first post Idol single as an independent. Just for the record, Sam is no longer listed among Hollywood Records list of artists.
Who owns Hollywood Records?
Hollywood Records is the WORST label ever, but they are owned by Disney and that is the only reason the show uses them. We are stuck with that trash label as long as they are on ABC. Unless maybe if Disney shuts down the useless label and actually picks a better label. see more.

It definitely seems like Hollywood Records isn’t as committed to the Idols as RCA and Interscope were. Though if the problem was direction, hopefully she will be happier as an indie artist if that’s what’s happening.
Just for the record, Sam is no longer listed among Hollywood Records list of artists. Maybe the young LGBTQ artist and Hollywood Records could not agree on what direction the young singer’s career should take.
Radio Disney just shut down . At least Republic has some of the biggest artists currently and literally dont care on The Voice alums except for Cassadee Pope (who recently moved to another label ) Danielle Bradbury , and Morgan Wallen (blehhh but he was signed to them years after The Voice ) see more.
