Why doesn’t Yushiro like Tanjiro?
Tanjiro meets Yushiro in the first mission in Asakusa Arc, and it seems like Yushiro doesn’t like Tanjiro because he doesn’t like the fact that there are one more person squeezes into his life with Tamayo. Despite this, while in the Infinity Castle, Yushiro keeps on supporting and wishes for Tanjiro to stay alive. And when the battle’s over, Yushiro visits Tanjiro and praises him.
During their first few encounters, Tanjiro and Muichiro held a strained relationship. Muichiro reprimanded Tanjiro by flicking a stone at his head after the latter interrupted Kagaya Ubuyashiki ‘s speech, and Tanjiro was bewildered by Muichiro’s rude treatment towards Kotetsu at the Swordsmith Village.
Tanjiro harbors a deep hatred for Muzan as he recognizes him as not only the leader and creator of the Demons but also as the perpetrator behind the slaughter of his family due to recognizing his scent. He yells at the Demon as he casually escapes that he will follow him to the ends of the Earth and that Muzan will die by his own blade.
At the first Hashira Meeting, Gyomei judges that Tanjiro must be killed as he works a demon slayer alongside a Demon. But during the Hashira Training Arc, Tanjiro shows Gyomei his determination and hard work, which later being accepted by the Stone Hashira .
When the two first meet they despise each other. Akaza calls Tanjiro a weakling and wants to kill him on sight. Tanjiro calls him a coward for running away and saying that Rengoku won the fight. Later in the Dimensional Infinity Fortress. Akaza is surprised he is still alive despite how weak he is. When Tanjiro is able to injure Akaza, he congratulates him.
Later on in the series, when they meet again on Natagumo Mountain, Kanao gets into a physical altercation with Tanjiro as he tries to protect his sister from getting killed and as result gets knocked out cold by Kanao.

At first, Tanjiro is annoyed with Zenitsu as their first encounter involved Zenitsu pestering a girl to marry him when she was clearly against it, forcing Tanjiro to remedy the situation by pulling Zenitsu away from the girl. Zenitsu was in denial that the girl didn’t like him and immediately blamed Tanjiro for his failed proposal, causing Tanjiro to look at him in disgust. Despite this, Tanjiro understood that Zenitsu must have been strong enough to pass the Final Selection and that the two can rely on each other during battles against powerful Demons.
Who is Tanjiro’s love interest?
His love interest that develops as the story goes on is Kanao Tsuyuri and their romance is quite adorable.
Tanjiro’s parents are Tanjuro and Kie. Fans see a lot of his mother, Kie, in those first couple of episodes when they also meet the rest of Tanjiro’s siblings. Kie became a single mother after her husband, Tanjuro passes.
Tanjiro trained for two long years, mastering his water breathing technique, under Sakonji Urokodaki. During that same time, Urokodaki had Nezuko under a spell to control her demon abilities. Tanjiro continues to train hard throughout the series to master new skills he learns along the way.
Tanjiro has a total of five siblings, which means there are six children in total. Himself, Nezuko, Takeo, Hanako, Shigeru, and Rokuta. Of course, all of his siblings besides Nezuko were killed by Muzan and make little appearances in dream-like sequences after.
Something that set Tanjiro on the right path before he even trained in sword fighting, and what impressed Giyu enough to help Tanjiro and Nezuko, was the young boy’s sense of smell. Tanjiro was able to read through people’s movements, actions, and even species based on how they smelled to him. He uses this to catch Giyu off guard in their first encounter with one another and still uses it in his own fighting after all his training.
After the massacre and Nezuko’s change, he spends years trying to learn the ways of fighting so that he may join the Demon Corp to figure out a way to save his sister. But Tanjiro is utterly kind and tries to help everyone he meets through his actions oftentimes rather than his blade.
Nezuko often looks like an actual child when she is in her small form, which makes sense considering she is 12 years old physically and 14 biologically. Tanjiro is her older brother and is currently 15 years old in the anime, but started the series at 13.
