Craig Cody was born on April 20, 1989, in Oceanside, California, to mother Janine “Smurf” Cody and father Jake Dunmore. He is the third child of his mother, Smurf, the younger half-brother of twins Julia and Andrew and the older half-brother of Deran. He also has an older adoptive brother named Barry Blackwell.
His father is Jake Dunmore, a former member of Smurf’s criminal gang and her ex-boyfriend, but is unaware of his existence. He and his girlfriend, and former drug dealer, Renn eventually have a son named Nick, leading Craig to struggle in improving his life by attempting to stay clean for his new family.
Craig Cody is the second eldest (30 years old) of Smurf’s sons, and has a predisposition for drugs and extreme actions. He is one of many main characters in the TNT Series, Animal Kingdom .
The older one is played by Jack Conley and the younger version is played by Jon Beavers. We only really know that the older version is Craig’s father that Smurf (Ellen Barkin) doesn’t want Craig to know about.

Deran’s father Billy is back. In a major surprise at the end of Season 4, Billy (Denis Leary), the father of Deran (Weary) who first appears in Season 3 to reveal himself to his son, is back. He shows up at Deran’s club with some, but not all, of the money he owes him.

Of course, one of the biggest convincing factors is the discovery that Smurf cheated the whole family out of her money, and believing they deserve it, J and Pope want to steal it back. Throughout past seasons, Pope’s only hold on his sanity comes from Smurf’s control, which she consistently uses to her advantage.
What episode does Deran beat J Cody?
In Episode 2 of Season 1 , Joshua ‘J’ Cody accidentally interrupts Deran when he is with his secret lover/friend, Adrian. To hide his sexuality, Deran encouraged J to join him as he beats Adrian. Deran later acts threateningly towards J in an attempt to ensure his silence.
Season 3. In season 3 , Deran has to deal with the return of his father Billy and his struggle over whether or not to form a relationship with the man. Their reunion ends when Billy robs Deran’s bar safe and takes off again.
Deran and Craig send Ox and his friend Colby to the doctor in Mexico, but in the finale, Deran learns from Ox’s parole officer that he’s missing.
