Hawaii Five-0 never saw the huge drop in viewing figures that is typical of most cancelled shows– although there was a slight drop in recent years, episodes still averaged over 7 million viewers.
There is a chance that we could see Hawaii Five-0 return in a few years, but it is more likely that there will be spin-off shows rather than a full reboot. There are plenty of characters that could hold their own in a spin-off series.

It turns out the series let go of some pretty major plans and, following the series finale, showrunner Peter M. Lenkov was willing to share the details.
