The attempts to bring him back have a major impact on the dynamic between the Super Squad. In the eighth episode of season 3, Landon makes his way back to the land of the living. So as of now, Landon is alive and well in ‘Legacies.’
Legacies season 3 ended with a number of characters’ fates up in the air, namely Landon and Cleo; here’s the ending explained and everything it sets up for Legacies season 4. The third season of Legacies was a bit uneven thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, but as always, defeating Malivore remained the central problem.
However, despite this effectively killing the Pheonix element of Landon, the Necromancer is still able to revive the human element of Landon (i.e. bring Landon back to life, basically) in the Legacies season 3 premiere. That’s where things get really complicated for the show’s hero.
The prevailing theory towards the beginning of Season 3 was that Landon made a deal with his father in the prison world episode and that Malivore took control of Landon and escaped with Hope. I still think that’s possibly what happened, though there are some uncomfortable things Legacies would have to address if that were true.
What episode does Landon die in Legacies?
Landon’s first death comes late in Legacies season 1. Episode 13, “The Boy Who Still Has A Lot of Good To Do,” sees Legacies explore the relationships of supporting star MG’s backstory as Landon pushes the young vampire to visit his family and explain his condition to them. Things do not go to plan and an enraged MG ends up punching Landon, only for his bleeding to awake the bloodsucker in Landon’s erstwhile friend. Although it takes a while for the episode to piece this together, eventually it is revealed that MG, unable to control his bloodlust, smelled Landon’s arterial spray and chowed down, killing his classmate in the process. However, before the episode ends, MG and Raf attempt to move their unfortunate former friend’s corpse, only for Landon to start smoking, burst into flame, and be reborn as Legacies reveals his supernatural power. Landon, it transpires, is not a human as previously assumed, but rather a Phoenix.
Legacies hero Landon Kirby has survived four deaths in the series so far, but how did Hope’s love interest expire and how was he revived each time?
Although Legacies has not proven as popular as The Originals and The Vampire Diaries, the show does boast a camp y sense of humor and an admirable commitment to never taking itself too seriously. This has ensured that Legacies maintained a solid fanbase despite the occasionally absurd plot terrain that the series explores, and this playful approach also means fans have been willing to excuse the show’s excessive focus on central couple Hope Mikaelson and Landon Kirby. In an initially clever subversion of the typical supernatural drama formula, the hapless Landon is often the character saved by the resourceful, powerful Hope and not the other way around.
What season did Landon and Cleo end up in?

He addressed his change by explaining that in the prison world, he was constantly chased by monsters and he had to learn how to fight if he wanted to stay alive.
If Ethan is around the Salvatore School, the other students will either have to hide their supernatural gifts or eventually, Ethan will find out again– and this time, it would be beyond cruel to compel him to forget again. Beyond that, Lizzie and MG have been dancing around each other romantically for three seasons.
When Finch disappeared to another spot in the school, Josie’s instinctive reaction, as usual, was to worry Finch was mad at her. Finch assured her she wasn’t, but also made it clear she wanted no secrets between them, something Josie hasn’t always been great at doing.
Unfortunately, it was revealed that Landon wasn’t Landon at all, but Malivore in his body –and now Cleo is trapped in Malivore, as well, after the creature swallowed her whole. The finale also offered further hope that Josie and Lizzie are growing away from their relationship hangups and codependence on each other.

However, in the same episode the golem’s identity was revealed, the real Landon actually returned from the prison world. But the show pulled a bait-and-switch again by revealing in the finale that it again wasn’t the real Landon, but Malivore in his body. The revelation explained a lot.
Or perhaps Malivore has the same motivation as his son, Clarke, and yearns to escape his pit entirely. Regardless, Cleo used her powers of inspiration on “Landon,” and his eyes flashed with the telltale golden glow of Cleo’s inspiration working–but what idea occurred to him isn’t yet clear.
Why did Landon refuse the Necromancer?
The ever-heroic Landon originally refused the Necromancer when he tried to return his soul to his body because if Landon was dead, Malivore wouldn’t have anyone to possess. Eventually, it’s his best friend who changes his mind. Article continues below advertisement.

So, is Landon really dead on ‘Legacies’? Landon’s fate has long been questioned by fans, especially after his near-death experience. Though things did not seem good for Landon, luckily, we saw him awaken at the start of Season 3 after some interference from Raf.
